Data for the Global Index comes from the hundreds of millions of tests taken by real people using Speedtest every month to test their Internet performance. Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index ranks mobile and fixed broadband speeds from around the world monthly. However on median fixed broadband speeds, India decreased by two spots in rank from 79 in January to 81 in February. Ookla also recorded 30.96 Mbps median mobile download speeds in February this year which is better than 29.85 Mbps in January 2023. In November, India ranked at 105th position, globally in median mobile speeds, as per Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index. According to the Speedtest Global Index, in the month of February, India witnessed a 2 spot in rank jump in median mobile download speeds globally from 69th in January to 67th in February 2023, making it a commendable performance by India in the past one quarter.
